Operating Temperatures |
| The fittings and valves are not to be used with hot water, although they withstand the same temperature as the polyethylene pipe itself. The fittings and valves will withstand sub-zero temperatures. |
Chemical Resistance |
Plasson Fittings are supplied, as standard, with polyacetal split rings and NBR O-rings which are suitable for water. For aggressive chemical applications CPVC split rings and EPDM or FPM O-rings can be supplied to produce a better chemical resistance. |
Operating Pressures and Quality Certificates |
Plasson compression fittings are tested and approved by major standard institutions such as: WRAS (GB), KIWA (NL), Standards Institution of Israel (IL), SAI (AUS), Statens Provingsanstalt Stockholm (S), Statens Planmerk (S), SVGW (CH), Byggestyrelsen (DK), SKZ (analogous to DIN 8076 Part 3) (D), IIP (UNI 9561) (IT). |

Threads |
All threads conform to ISO-7/1, BS 21 - 1973, DIN 2999, NEN 3258, AS 1722 Part 1 - 1975. External taper threads all sizes. Internal parallel thread up to 2 1/2 ", internal taper thread 3" and up. |
Flanges |
| Flange dimensions in accordance with: ISO 7005-1 (TABLE 11), BS 4504:1989 (TABLE 11), DIN 2501 (PN 16 TABLE), AS/NZS 4331. Metal backing rings to be used with all flanges. |
Note |
Before installation ensure: That the end of the pipe to be inserted into the fitting is free of scratches and other imperfections and that both the pipe and the fitting itself are clean of sand, mud, stones etc. Do not over tighten nut when closing. Never use wrenches or spanners with handle lengths longer than 46 cm - excessive torque during tightening can spread nut cone and result in pull outs. If fittings are reused, ensure split ring is sharp and bites into pipe to avoid pull outs. Alternatively replace split ring.
Note: We strongly recommend the use of PTFE tape in threaded connections. |
