By incorporating our regulator in to the system, Plasson have done away with the need for a header tank and ball valve to regulate the supply of water to the line. Together with the new ivory coloured 'game nipple', the drinker system dramatically cuts down time spent on general maintenance of traditional drinkers.

Lines can now be joined together using a mid line valve. This eliminates the need for a regulator on each line and therefore reduces the cost if several drinkers are required. If drinker lines are joined together using one regulator, they must be the same height and on level ground for the regulator to function correctly.

When using the regulator, incoming water pressure should ideally be between 1.5 bar (22psi) and 2.0 bar (30psi). Pressure reducers (part no 9095 @£60.00) are available if the water supply is from a mains pipeline. Water supplied from a header tank should ideally be 3 metres (10ft) above floor level, although the regulator will work perfectly well with less pressure.

The ivory coloured game nipple has been developed at Plasson's R&D Centre to give a low flow rate suitable for game birds. Yellow nipples are also available to give a slightly higher flow rate if required. The 2005, 2006 and 2007 rearing seasons were very successful, prolonged spells of hot weather during rearing proved to be no problem for keepers using Plasson ivory game nipple drinker systems.

The original Plasson game nipple system, complete with header tank, is still readily available. These low maintenance systems have proved to be a great success, with hundreds of units now being used all over the UK. Systems can be supplied with either yellow or ivory nipples.

After consulting with keepers from all over the country, Plasson develop new concepts and update existing products. In 2004, Plasson celebrated 40 years of production. Their quality drinking systems are used all over the world.
